Lower interest rates could spell disaster for IOLTA.

WisTAF

Contingent on interest rates, IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts) funds help sustain providers of invaluable legal services such as helping people combat discrimination, resolve disability claims, become independent from an abusive partner, and much more. Nationwide, IOLTA is the second largest source of funding for legal aid behind the federal government.

IOLTA participating institutions serve a worthwhile cause.

Nationwide, over 5,500 financial institutions participate in IOLTA by maintaining IOLTA accounts. The legal profession values this worthwhile partnership with the banking community. In 2011, Wisconsin''s Prime Partners and other IOLTA-participating institutions funded 15 agencies providing civil legal services to individuals and families in need. more

Financial institutions

Financial institutions provide the substance of the IOLTA program. The commitment of banks, credit unions and savings & loans to the communities they serve is reflected in their participation in IOLTA. The interest that is earned on attorney IOLTA accounts is helping our friends and neighbors across Wisconsin. more
