Wisconsin Supreme Court rules allow attorneys to hold trust accounts at any IOLTA participating financial institution. The choice of where to locate your IOLTA is more than a business decision: it is a chance for your firm to make a difference to people who are struggling to seek justice.

Use the opportunity to help make justice equal under the law

Your law firm can increase access to justice for people of limited means in Wisconsin by banking with a Prime Partner financial institution.

Prime Partner financial institutions go above and beyond by voluntarily paying interest rates on IOLTA accounts that are at least 0.50 percent higher than required under Supreme Court rules. The additional interest means more civil legal aid in communities throughout Wisconsin.

Most Wisconsin banks and credit unions already participate in the IOLTA program, but if you hope to work with a financial institution that doesn't, feel free to refer that bank or credit union to WisTAF for instructions on how to join IOLTA.
